the problem with caretaking is that you can never feel taken care of. do you understand that?

it's letting your night stand fill up with empty cups because you can't say no to loneliness. it's washing her dishes for a week and apologizing for the bowl you missed. it's a heart drop when she gives you a key chain because you didn't get her anything. it's a question about flowers because she asked you about your love life.
